Lighthouse special event stations


17/08/2007: The members of "The World Light House Foundation" & ARC Koprivnica & All Croatian Islands Award Group will be active from many Croatian lighthouses and islands between August 17-23rd. During the ILLW between August 17-19, activity will be from lighthouse Susak (WLH 9A-016, ACIA IC-127, CIA-45, CLH-31, CI-108, ARLHS CRO-50, EU-136). The call signs will be 9A60K/p, 9A0LH and 9A7K. 17/08/2007: Look for CE4T and CE4S to be active from Topocalma Lighthouse (CHI-076) during August 17-19th. They will also be active in the International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend (ILLW - August 18-19th). Activity will be on 40/20/10 metres using SSB only. 17/08/2007: A group of about 10 operators plan to be QRV as DF0WFB/lh, August 17-20th, 2007, for the International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend, from Oland Island (EU-042, N-20 for the German Islands Award) and lighthouse (#75 for the German Lighthouse Award - DLTD, ARLHS FED-174, TWLHD WLH DL-022, WLOTA LH-0712). They will have three stations in operation: 1) 100w HF station CW with dipole. 2) 100w HF station SSB and 2-Element Drahtbeam. 3) 100w VHF 2m SSB station with yagi. 17/08/2007: Operators Kurt/HB9AFI, Michel/HB9DLO, Pascal/HB9DWR, Dom/HB9HLI, Pierre-Yves/HB9OMI and Marc/HB9ONN will be active August 17-19th as HB9LH from several Swiss lighthouse and castle references. They will be located at Morges Castle and Morges Harbour (Vaud Canton, WW Loc. JN36GL) and will be QRV on 80, 40, 20, 17, 15 and 10 meter CW and SSB with 2 stations. 17/08/2007: The Bahía Blanca DX Group (LU3DXG) will transmit once again from four different lighthouse at the same time during the weekend of August 17-19th: Rincón Lighthouse (ARG-036, WW Loc. FF80XO) located in Verde Peninsula in Villarino County, using special prefix LR3DX; Recalada Lighthouse (ARG-009, WW Loc. FF91IA) located in Monte Hermoso, using each operator's call sign plus "/D" because they are located in the province of Buenos Aires; Baliza Trípode Lighthouse (ARG-1884, WW Loc. FF91AC), located at 30 Km from the Puerto Belgrano Naval Base, using the BBDXG call LU3DXG; and Cabo Blanco Lighthouse (ARG-001, WW Loc. FE72DT), located in San Jorge Gulf, 60 Km north from Puerto Deseado, Santa Cruz Province, using the official lighthouse call LU6XA. Activity will be on all bands and modes, including digimodes (RTTY, PSK and SSTV). Contacts with Recalada, Baliza Trípode and Rincón Lighthouses will be valid for the "Province of Buenos Aires Lighthouses" Award, organized by the Bahía Blanca DX Group. Also another award is on the air this year: "Argentine Atlantic Coast Lighthouses 2007" organized by BBDXG, Mistongo DX Group, Tandil Radio Club and Avellaneda Radio Club. Silver version: work 5 of 8 lighthouses for this award. Gold version: work all 8 lighthouses for this award. The valid lighthouses are: ARG-036, ARG-009, ARG-001, ARG-1884 (by BBDXG); ARG-014, ARG-020, ARG-1882 (by Mistongo DX Group and Tandil RC); and ARG-008 (by Avellaneda Radio Club). The awards are printed in full colour on glossy paper, with call and name in laser print. The cost for all DXCC entities is 5 IRCs. The QSL and Award manager is: LU7DSY Carlos, P.O. 17/08/2007: Operators Dave/VK4NDX, Andrew/VK4HMU and Darren/VK4FEAT will be active as VK4HAM/LGT from Cape Moreton Lighthouse (AUS-039, WLOTA LH-2987) on Moreton Island (OC-137) for the International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend (ILLW) between August 17-20th. 18/08/2007: The Ushuaia ARS will be active as AY7X during the ILLW (August 18-19th from the Baliza Escarpados lighthouse (ARLHS ARG-081, WW Loc. FD55VE). Activity will be on 80-10m, using SSB, CW and PSK. 18/08/2007: The Associacao de Radioamadores do Distrito de Leiria will participate in the ILLW as CQ5N from Nazare Lighthouse (DFP FBL-04, ARLHS POR-032). QSL via CT6ARL (direct only). [425 DX News]

18/08/2007: Carlos, CT1CSY and Jose Luis, CT2GZB will participate in the ILLW as CQ7C from the lighthouse at Cabo Carvoeiro (ARLHS POR-006). QSL via CT2GZB, direct or bureau. [425 DX News]

18/08/2007: A special event station from ARVM - Associação de Radioamadores da Vila de Moscavide signing CT1RVM/p will be active during ILLW 2007 (August 18-19th) from Cabo Raso Lighthouse (ARLHS POR-011, WW Loc. IM58GR). This activity will be also valid for the Portuguese Lighthouses Award reference number DFP FES04, and Portuguese Castles and Fortresses Award reference number DCFP F141 - Forte de Sao Bras. Activity will be on 40, 20, 15 and 10 metre, SSB. Look for them near the World Lighthouse frequencies. Suggested SSB frequencies (+/- 20 khz) are: 7070, 14270, 21370, 28370 kHz. 18/08/2007: Some members of the Bittern DX Group will activate Blakeney Mariners Light (ARLHS ENG-292) during the ILLW (August 18-19th). 18/08/2007: The Scarborough Special Events Group will be active as GB2SCA for the International Lighthouse Weekend (August 18-19th), from the lamp room in the Scarborough Lighthouse (Admiralty A2592, ARLHS ENG-121). 18/08/2007: The Motorola Amateur Radio Club (Florida Chapter) will operate as K4L from Cape Florida lighthouse (ARLHS USA-118) on Key Biscayne (NA-141, USi FL-030S, Dade County), Florida, August 18th for the International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend. They plan to be active from 1300 UTC to 2330 UTC on 40 and 20 metre CW, SSB and digital modes. QSL via W4MOT, direct or bureau. [425 DX News]

18/08/2007: The Englewood Amateur Radio Society (EARS) plans to operate from the Boca Grande Lighthouse (ARLHS USA-910, WW Loc. EL86UR) on Gasparilla Island (NA-069, USi FL-034S, Charlotte county), Florida, as K8ONV on August 18th and 19th. They will participate in the International Lighthouse Day. QSL via K8ONV (QRZ.com).
