China seeks to set up two radio stations in Ghana

The Chinese Ambassador in Ghana, Yu Wenzhe, has expressed the intention of China to set up broadcasting stations in Accra and Kumasi [presumably relay stations for China Radio International] to enable the government and people of Ghana to have first hand information on China. He said information and the media played important roles in the world and noted that when given the opportunity the two countries would understand each other better and further strengthen bilateral relations.

“We will closely and diligently support each other,” Mr Yu told Mrs Oboshie Sai-Cofie, Information and National Orientation Minister, when he paid a courtesy call on her in Accra. Mrs Sai-Cofie said she would take a look at the proposal and forward it to Cabinet.
