Car bombs wrecks Colombian radio station

A car bomb exploded in northern Bogota early today, slightly injuring four people and causing extensive damage at a private radio station, police and witnesses said. “It was a vehicle that exploded,” Bogota police commander Cesar Pinzon told reporters at the scene, adding that four people had suffered light injuries. He said there was no immediate claim of responsibility, and police had received no prior warnings.

An AFP reporter at the scene said the explosion blew out windows and shook many buildings in the area. The force of the blast caused the collapse of a large part of the roof of the building that houses the Caracol radio station, which had to be evacuated, reporters for the radio station said.
