Nigeria
6089.840, Radio Nigeria, Kaduna. West African music at 0455. Signal hit heavily by female sermon on Carribean Beacon even 6090. And another string observed in between on 6089.952 kHz. A puzzle, could that be Brazil's Radio Bandeirantes ? (wb, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews 1079)

Papua New Guinea
3260, NBC Madang, 1159-1204.* For over a week had been hearing this with a good signal before 1200. When I checked again later they were always off the air. So they are actually now suddenly going off the air much earlier than their normal sign off time. Bird call and start of the NBC National news on weekdays, but Christian religious song. Station identification and frequencies in Tok Pisin on Sunday. Phone dedications, transmitter off in mid-news \\ NBC Sandaun on 3204.96 which continued on after 1204.

Clearly here is another Papua New Guinea station that must be on a timer that automatically ends their transmitting day; just the way NBC East New Britain (3385 kHz) formerly did when they were on the air. (Ron Howard-CA/DX Window 461)

3915, Radio Fly via Kiunga, 1357-1405. Eclectic selections of music to Stevie Wonder “A Place In The Sun.” Kenny G “Winter Wonderland” to Scottish bagpipe music (rare to hear this on shortwave). Signal almost fair. MP3 audio posted at https://www.box.com/s/8a69d2a97eb6c5a157b0 Noted that 5960 continues off the air (Ron Howard, Asilomar State Beach, CA)

Philippines
17700, Radyo ng Bayan simulcast via Radio Pilipinas, 0235-0330.* Tuned in expecting the usual weekday programming in English, but instead found Tagalog, so I knew something different was going on. Numerous IDs for “Radyo ng Bayan, 738 kilohertz on the AM dial, Nationwide.” Signal of fair strength, but poor audio, and fairly garbled, but not enough to make it unintelligible. Observed 0328 the only ID heard for Radio Pilipinas, the Voice of the Philippines to national anthem and station off. Suspect was a special program regarding the death of Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, as his body had just been found at sea after looking for it for several days, after a plane crash. He had been a part of President Aquino's cabinet (Ron Howard,Asilomar State Beach, CA)

Tanzania/Zanzibar
6015 Zanzibar Broadcasting Corporporation, Zanzibar, 0358. Music clip, baby crying. Advertisements to male speaker with "ZBC Radio." Drums and wind instrument, time pips, news in Swahili. "ZBC Radio" again at 0405, followed by world news from Bamako, Abidjan, Tehran, Jeddah, headlines and another "ZBC Radio" followed by local song. Good signal. (Graham Bell-AFS/DX Window 461)
