Bangladesh Betar inaugurates 100 kW SW transmitter
A 1000 kW transmitter [presumably mediumwave] will be set up at Dhamrai soon at a cost of Taka 650 million (US$9.3 million) aiming at further strengthening the transmission of Bangladesh Betar. This was stated by Information Minister M Shamsul Islam who was the chief guest while inaugurating a 100 kW shortwave transmitter in Savar. The Minister said that with the launching of this 100 kW shortwave transmitter, the listeners of Bangladesh Betar living abroad would be able to listen its programmes clearly.
