Elkorn Pirate Maildrop to close
The operator of the Elkhorn maildrop has passed along word that the maildrop will close forever effective on September 15. Too few stations and an increased use of the Internet for sending reception reports and electronic QSLing, were cited as the reason for the pending closedown. The operator stated, "It has been a privilege serving the pirate community for the past several years. My thanks to the stations who have utilized Elkhorn during this time."
The maildrop address, P.O. Box 69, Elkhorn, NE 68022 will remain valid until the September 15 closedown. Pirate stations that have used this pirate maildrop service over the years include: The (Government) Mule, Ground Zero Radio, KIPM, KROW, Mystery Science Radio, The Purple Nucleus of Creation, Radio Gong (Calling), Radio Time Machine, Seldom Heard Radio, Theremin Radio, Voice a Da Tiki, Voice of the Abnormal, Woodoo Radio, WAIR (All Indie Radio) and WDDR.
