KBS Korea plans to expand Asian targets
Korea’s KBS World has reached a carriage deal with Hong Kong Cable Television Limited (Cable TV), adding to its Asian footprint that currently includes Japan, Thailand, the Philippines and Singapore. KBS World, Korea Broadcasting System’s television channel for the international audience, will be available for Cable TV subscribers from 23 October. Under the agreement, Cable TV will also distribute the channel via several local mobile operators.
A spokesperson from Cable TV said KBS World would give a big boost to the strength and variety of Cable TV’s Korean programming, which is becoming increasingly popular in Hong Kong.
