Ethiopia: Radio Fana to construct new building


Radio Fana, a pro-government station in Ethiopia, is to construct an 11 storey building inside its compound, in a bid to upgrade its broadcasting capacity, sources have told The Daily Monitor. The construction of the new building will enables the station to scale up its transmission capacity to 18 hours a day, from the present 11 hours a day.

The radio station, which started operation in 1995, celebrates its 12th anniversary today. Radio Fana broadcasts on AM, FM and shortwave to in Amharic, Oromiffa, Amharic and English.
