Radio France International to cease broadcast in Azerbaijan
The broadcasts of Radio France International on 105.0 MHz FM in Baku, Azerbaijan, will be stopped. Nushirevan Maharramli, chairman of the Azerbaijani National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council, told the Trend News Agency today that Azerbaijan has repeatedly appealed to the French radio to submit the licence [sic - presumably application].
The Council has issued licences for the broadcasting of RFE/RL and the Voice of America, as well as the BBC. The issue concerning the interruption of RFI will be considered during the meeting of the Council tomorrow.
