India ready for annual Independence Day broadcast
All India Radio annual broadcast on Independence Day August 15
AIR will broadcast the running commentary in English and Hindi on the Flag Hoisting and Prime Minsters speech to be held at Red Fort, New Delhi between 0135-0240 on Wednesday, August 15 on the following frequencies in English:
13620 Bengaluru 500 kW
15050 Delhi 250 kW
17510 Delhi 250 kW (interference expected from BBC)
The regional shortwave stations will begin using their day time frequencies about one hour or more earlier than usual on August 15 to relay the commentary. This may provide a more enhanced reception of stations, than on normal days. The sign on schedule for that day is as follows with normal sign on timings in parenthesis.

Note: Srinagar will not change to 6110 kHz, at 0215, but will continue on 4950 kHz. All stations of All India Radio, will relay the running commentry.
