A blogger from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, writes about government censorship of information. He says that all the pro democracy internet sites are still blocked, despite denials by the Ministry of Information. The method which they use to block sites is quite primitive, so all blogspot.com sites are blocked - not only the ones that have information about Ethiopia .
The blogger writes: “Almost every middle class family by now has a satellite dish so that they can avoid watching ETV all the time. Shortwave radios are a popular item for many people. Deutsche Welle, the BBC, Voice of America and other stations that provide news about Ethiopia are much listened to.”
