Hello friends
This weekend, in North America, the transition to Daylight Savings Time is complete. Political sentiment in North America is in favor of year-round Daylight Time. This would end these confusing weekends. (Although I would prefer year-round standard time.)
All of the WRMI frequencies except 9955 kHz stay with UTC, so most WRMI transmissions of Shortwave Radiogram will be one hour later by local time for most North Americans. WRMI's 9955 kHz stays with Eastern Time, so the Tuesday transmission is at 1430 UTC. WINB on 9265 kHz stays with Eastern Time, so those transmissions are one hour earlier UTC, i.e. Thursday 2330 and Saturday 0230 UTC. And for the last bit of confusion, WINB's DRM frequency stays with UTC. That frequency is now 15750: I think it will stay the same but have not yet received confirmation of that. You might have to tune around to find it. The updated schedule is below.
Videos of last weekend's Shortwave Radiogram (program 247) are provided by Scott in Ontario (Friday 1300 UTC), PDXh0b0 Shack in Washington state (Sunday 0800 UTC on 5850 kHz), and Mike R. somewhere in the USA (Sunday 2330 UTC excerpt). The audio archive is maintained by Mark in the UK. The analysis is prepared by Roger in Germany.
Here is the lineup for Shortwave Radiogram, program 248, 17-20 March 2022, in MFSK modes as noted:
1:37 MFSK32: Program preview
2:44 MFSK32: Too many satellites in low-Earth orbit?
7:02 MFSK64: Radio Exterior de España cumple 80 años* (in Spanish)
12:04 MFSK64: This week's images*
28:08 MFSK32: Closing announcements
* with image(s)
Note: For the Thursday 2330 UTC, the preview is erroneously listed as program 249, and the program segment times are not specified ("XX:XX"). I hope this will be fixed in the WINB Saturday 0230 UTC broadcast. It will be correct in the WRMI transmissions.
