*** The State We're In - Midweek Edition ***
We look at the right to die with 'dignity' with a Dutch nurse who has assisted numerous suicides, and a campaigner who is opposed to the practice.
Then, we look at how walls and fences influence how we treat each other. We hear about a Palestinian village surrounded by a wall, meet Texans who don't want a border fence with Mexico, and learn how Greenland has a prison system without walls.

'The Simple Life' - by Naema Tahir
This season Radio Books highlights work from the diverse immigrant community of the Netherlands and Belgium. Naema Tahir was born in Great Britain but moved to the Netherlands with her Pakistani parents when she was ten years old. She studied law at Leiden University.
Her Radio Books story is a retelling of the classic 'Romeo and Juliet' set in 16th-century Lahore. A Hindu boy and a Muslim girl fall in love despite the division between their two families.

We look at the toxic mess that stems from a toxic waste case. In 2006 the ship Probo Koala tried to unload a cargo of waste at Amsterdam's port. Dock workers noticed a dangerous chemical cloud coming from the liquid waste. They declared it toxic and refused to process it. So the Probo Koala took its toxic cargo to Ivory Coast where it was dumped on land, killing 17 Ivorians and causing skin and breathing problems for thousands more.
Two years on, and the fallout continues as individuals, companies and even governments attempt to pass the buck. Find out more on Earthbeat.
