Radio Romania International schedule updates

Radio Romania Intl QSL

Radio Romania has changed many of its frequencies again. According to their website, this is because of a malfunction at the Tiganesti site:

"A malfunction has been recorded at one of the transmitters in Tiganesti, and we will temporarily be broadcasting on different frequencies." (dated 4 May 2025) The German section adds that the replacement transmitter is not capable of transmitting in DRM mode, while the Spanish section identifies the malfunctioning transmitter as BD 300-2 and the replacement transmitter as BD 300-1.

The new frequencies had been registered with HFCC from the beginning of the A-25 season but had been unused so far. The same had happened for parts of the previous season.

Listeners’ Day on Radio Romania International

On November 3, 2024, the first Sunday after the celebration of the Romanian radio corporation, RRI invites you to be part of the Listeners’ Day show.

This year, RRI asks you in what way you think AI (Artificial Intelligence) will change the world. What will the jobs of the future be like? To what extent will we depend on AI? Who and how will have to regulate the use of AI? What are, in your opinion, the pros and cons of using AI?

We are waiting for your contributions, to include them in our November 3rd show. You can send them by email, to engl@rri.ro, or on Facebook. You can also send audio messages on WhatsApp, at +40744312650, or you can send us your phone number and we will call to record your contribution. Thank you!

Radio Romania International will celebrate Listeners' Day on November 7

Radio Romania International Short Wave Transmitters Installed near Ciopali in Tiganesti. Transmitters Power: 300 kW.

Sunday, the 7th of November 2021, will be Listeners' Day on Radio Romania International, celebrated a week after the Romanian Radio Day marked on the 1st of November. 2021, just like the previous year, has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has profoundly changed our lives, keeping us apart from family and friends and influencing our way of spending free time.

Bombarded with all sorts of news and information, we realized that it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between true and false stories. During the pandemic, public radio and TV stations have been doing their best to offer quality journalism and reliable information. This effort has been repaid, as most people have returned to public stations as their main source of reliable information.

Do not destroy Radio Romania International !

Radio Romania Int'l QSL - 2011
The Romanian Syndicate of Journalists MediaSind, through the Radio Romania Branch, expresses its concern at the intention of the SRR president-general director, Georgic Severin, to suspend the shortwave broadcast of the Radio Romania International station.

Due to the superficiality with which the responsible factors of the institution treated the problem of the allocated budget, the Romanian Broadcasting Society lost, at the last rectification, 10 million lei, an amount without which the good functioning of the company cannot be ensured.

Radio Romania International, announces contest for listeners

Radio Romania International/ Contest / Iasi -
Historical Capital of Romania Iasi - Historical Capital of Romania
 Eugen Cojocariu, Alecu Marciuc

Dadio Romania International, invites you to participate in a new prize winning contest, entitled "Iasi - Historical Capital of Romania", devoted to the city of Iasi and Iasi County in northeastern Romania.

In 2018, the year of the Great Union Centennial, the city of Iasi was declared under Law no. 361/2018 "Historical Capital of Romania".

Also last year Alba Iulia was proclaimed "Capital of the Great Union". Iasi was the capital of the Principality of Moldavia between 1564-1859, one of the two capitals of the United Romanian Principalities (Moldavia and Wallachia) over 1859-1862, as well as the capital of the Kingdom of Romania between 1916-1918, during the Great War, when Bucharest was under German occupation.

Over May 2, 2019 and May 1, 2020 Iasi has been declared the Capital of Youth in Romania, as part of a national programme devoted to young people. On June 1, 2019 Iasi was visited by his Holy   Father Pope Francis, becoming for a few hours the world capital of religion. Iasi is a city of culture and the arts, of high-quality education, history, religion and tourism, but also the birthplace of scores of iconic Romanians.

We invite you to follow RRI's broadcasts, our site  http://www.rri.ro  and our F_B and LinkedIn profiles and provide correct answers, in writing, to the contest questions. The contest ends on August 31, 2019, mailing date (August 31, at midnight, Romania's time, for online participants).

Two Grand Prizes will be offered to two RRI listeners, consisting of an 8-day (7-night) trip, full-board, over October 10-17, 2019, sponsored by Majestic Hotel in Iasi.

As usual, winners will be asked to cover personal transportation to Romania as well as proceedings to obtain a visa for Romania, where necessary. Additional prizes consisting in objects that promote the
culture of Iasi will be up for grabs.

The contest is co-organized by the Iasi City Hall, The Bishopric of Moldavia and Bukovina, the Roman-Catholic Diocese of Iasi, the Iasi National Museum Complex, the Federation of Youth NGOs
from Iasi, Radio Romania Iasi and other partners.

And now the questions:
- In what context was Iasi the capital of Romania?
- What was Iasi declared over 2019-2020?
- Which world leader visited Iasi early this summer?

Please tell us what prompted you to participate in the contest and why you are listening to RRI's broadcasts and following RRI's content online.

Our address is:
Radio Romania International, 60-64 G-ral Berthelot Street, Sector 1,
Bucharest, P.O.Box 111, code 010165, Romania, Europe.

fax 00.40.21.319.05.62,  e-mail: engl@rri.ro

Please send your answers by August 31, 2019, mailing date (August 31 28, 2019, 24:00 hours Romanian time, for online contributions).

The rules and regulations of this contest are available online and on RRI's F_B profile. Good luck!

Radio Romania Contest Details

Romania

Dear friends of RRI, you are once again invited to a prize winning contest: "Radio Romania 90 and RadiRo 2018". The contest is dedicated to 90 years of Romanian radio broadcasting and to this year's edition of the International Festival of Radio Orchestras, RadiRo, organized by the national public radio in our country.

The first radio transmission in Romania was broadcast on Nov 1, 1928. Nine decades marked by the special moments have gone by, moments that the national public radio celebrates together with you, by organizing a new contest. The month of November 2018 is, however - rich in cultural events, and one of them being the 4th International Festival of Radio Orchestras between November 18 and 25, to which this contest is dedicated as well.

The public radio service in Romania, the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation, is the leader of the line industry, with a cumulative daily reach of some 4.5 million listeners and a cumulative market share of 30%.

Radio Romania is made up of the channels Radio Romania Actualitati, Radio Romania International, Radio Romania Cultural, Radio Romania Muzical, Antena Satelor, a network of over 10 regional stations, the Radio3net online station, Radio Chisinau (based in the Republic of Moldova), but it is also of the National Radio Drama Department, the RADOR News Agency and the Radio Choirs and Orchestras.

Radio Romania organizes every two years, alternatively with the famous "George Enescu" International Festival, its own International Festival of Radio Orchestras, RadiRo, which reaches its fourth edition in 2018. Famous orchestras as well as prominent soloists and conductors will step onto the stage of the festival, just as every year. The main novelty of the 2018 edition is the series of jazz concerts.

You are invited to follow RRI broadcasts, our website http://www.rri.ro/ and our Facebook, Google+ and LinkedIn profiles, and to answer correctly, in writing, a few questions, and you may be a winner. The closing date is November 30, 2018 mailing date, (namely 30 November, 24:00 hours Romanian time, for online contributions, respectively).

The prizes and honorary mentions consist of items promoting Romanian culture, symphonic and jazz music, also promoting the public radio service. The contest is organized jointly with the "Casa Radio" Publishing House and the City Hall of Bucharest.

And here are the questions:
- How many years ago was the 1st radio transmission broadcast in Romania?

- Name three channels under the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation!

- What is the current edition of the International Festival  of Radio Orchestras?

- Who is the organizer of the RadiRo Festival?

Please tell us what prompted you to participate in the contest and why you are listening to RRI's broadcasts and following RRI's content online. Our address is:

Radio Romania International

Sector 1, Bucharest,
P.O.Box 111, postcode 010165, Romania.

e-mail engl@rri.ro

Please send your answers by November 30, 2018, mailing date (30 November, 24:00 hours Romanian time, for online contributions). The rules and regulations of this contest are available at:

Radio Romania Intl welcomes questionnaire 2011-212

Radio Romania International has a continued commitment towards improving the structure, content and journalistic quality of radio broadcasts (by modernizing short wave emitters, short wave digital content, expanding re-broadcasting services through partner stations). At the same time, we have enhanced our on-line presence, branching out on social networks and content sharing platforms.

This questionnaire is our latest attempt to gauge how well received and appreciated these efforts were by our audience. You are kindly invited to fill in this questionnaire and send it to RRI as soon as possible, but no later than 15 March 2012. The first 100 of our listeners who return the complete questionnaire by any means (regular mail, e-mail, fax, or by filling in the form received through RRI newsletter) will receive a small gift as a sign of our appreciation. Be assured that your answers are entirely confidential, and will be used by RRI for statistical purposes only. The only exception to that may be answers that we quote on the air with your explicit consent.

Thank you in advance,
