Broadcasting affected in Pakistan by state of emergency

Pakistan state television has announced that President Pervez Musharraf has declared a state of emergency in response to the increasing unrest in the country. After the announcement, privately owned TV stations went off the air. Witnesses say troops have been deployed at state-run radio and television stations. President Musharraf is due to address the nation later today.
