New details have emerged about how Azerbaijan will organize radio broadcasting in minority languages in the reclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh. Let us recall that, as reported, at the beginning of October, on three FM frequencies - 101.1, 103.5, and 97.7 MHz, through a transmitting center in Shusha, some Azerbaijani radio broadcasting in Nagorno-Karabakh in Armenian and Russian languages started in order to convey to residents' Armenian origin of the calls of the Azerbaijani authorities.
However, what specific radio stations began broadcasting on the above-mentioned frequencies was unknown. We then assumed that we were talking about regular channels of Azerbaijani radio from Baku. However the catch was that the 1st main radio channel of Azerbaijan Radio does not broadcast programs in the Armenian language. In addition to the Azerbaijani language, Channel I of Azerbaijani Radio broadcasts only in Russian (and then only one short five-minute news broadcast per day).
In Armenian, radio broadcasts in modern Azerbaijan are carried out only on the station "Voice of Azerbaijan", also known as "International Radio", and in Soviet times as foreign broadcasting "Radio Baku".
