Voice of Vietnam urged to better serve listeners

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has urged the staff of Radio The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) to expand its programmes and upgrade technology in order to raise the radio’s prestige in the region and the world. Meeting with the VOV staff yesterday, the PM praised their efforts in disseminating the Party and the State’s policies to all parts of the country, thus contributing to the general achievements of Vietnam.
The VOV every day broadcasts programmes in 12 languages totalling nearly 200 hours on six channels on AM, FM and shortwave, through satellites and on the Internet. The total airtime has reached over 380,000 hours per year throughout Vietnam and other countries.
