In partnership with Chinese media company SINA Corp. (新浪), the BBC World Service has expanded its "Learning English" service.
"We are delighted to partner with SINA to provide quality English learning content in China," said Raymond Li, BBC World Service business development manager for China and North Asia.
According to Li, the BBC World Service has been building up successful partnerships with a number of Chinese portals in recent years. "This latest partnership with SINA," he said, "will help us reach more online learners in China, therefore bringing more benefit to them, too."
Visitors to the SINA portal have direct access to BBC "Learning English" content tailored specifically for Chinese speakers.
"This co-operation," said Tong Chen, executive vice president and chief editor for SINA, "will enable us to provide online users in China with the most authoritative, professional, advanced English learning materials in the world, thus helping to improve English teaching and learning all over China.
