The Nigerian government plans to merge the broadcast media regulatory body, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) with the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC). This follows the recent merger of the Federal Ministry of Information with the Federal Ministry of Communications.
The Minister of Information and Communications, Mr Frank Nweke says that the federal government would come out with a statement within a few days on the headship of the institution, the name and framework under which it would work, considering that both institutions were established by an act of parliament.
