Malaysia's first all-news radio station to launch Monday


Radio24, Malaysia’s first “all news” radio station, will be launched on Monday. The 24-hour radio station is operated by the National News Agency (Bernama). With the tagline “real life, real time”, Radio24 offers domestic, regional and world news through its hourly news bulletins, half-hourly news highlights and newsbreaks at anytime as and when they occur through live coverage and cross-overs. It also airs at frequent intervals traffic and weather reports as well as public service announcements.

Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin will launch the station at a ceremony at Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Radio24 director Datuk Syed Jamil Jaafar said all is set for the launching of the station which uses the frequency 93.9 FM. “Trial transmission has been going on since Aug 16 and we are now ready for the official launch,” he said.

For the first phase, Radio24 can be heard in the Klang Valley and its surrounding areas.
