Radio Canada International. 6100, 2305. Sign-on into The Link program - with a focus on street gangs. SIO 555. (B Fraser, ME)

Clandestine

North Korea-Echo of Hope. 6003, 1220-1240. Had forgotten about this frequency until noticed recent log. Lady announcers chat and playing music. Noted on // 3985 and 6348 kHz. Of these three freqs only 6348 seems to be jammed. (J Wilkins, CO).

Czech Republic
Radio Prague. Item on adopting greyhound dogs from Ireland, which otherwise would be destroyed. SIO 454. (B Fraser, ME)

Djibouti
Radio Djibouti. 4780, 0300. Station sign-on followed by Koran recitations. Arabic text at 0310. S9 signal with static, and slowly fading by 0315. (B Jordan, TN).

Egypt
Radio Cairo. 6135.02, 0155-0126. Spanish text to local pop music tunes. Audio distorted, but better on // 7270, 9360. (B Alexander, PA)

Ethiopia
Radio Ethiopia. 7110.01, 0300-0315. Sign-on with opening program announcements in local language. Announcers talk and brief music breaks. Poor to fair signal // 5990 very weak under DRM signal // 9704.17 low modulation. (B Alexander, PA)

France
Radio France International. 17605, 1618. Report on the Canadian-Zimbabwean cooperation, SIO 352. (B Fraser, ME)

French Guiana
BBC World Service relay. 5975, 2240. Item on progress in robotic research. SIO 454. (B Fraser, ME)

Gabon
Radio Gabon. 4777, *0458-0759*. Huge S9+20 signal quality. French sign-on announcements by lady to news at 0500. Pop vocals at 0510. Carrier at noise floor at 0759*. (B Jordan, TN)>

GuatemalaRadio Coatán. 4779.96, *1030-1230. National anthem, station sign-on identification and into local vocals. (B Jordan, TN).

India
All India Radio-Kolkata. 4820. 1222-1230. Presumed the one here turning the transmitter - turned on at 1222. About equal level to and 7 Hz below tentative PBS Xizang. No audio noted before 1230. (B Jordan, TN).

All India Radio-Lucknow. 4879.99, 1205-1230. Presumed another AIR outlet turning on transmitter at 1205. No audio noted by 1230 end of recording. (B Jordan, TN).

Indonesia
RRI-Makassar. 4750, 1020-1035. Annnouncers program comments to "canned" station promos. Music and station ID at 1029 with additional comments. Fair signal quality. C Bolland, FL).

Japan
Radio Nikkei. 3925, 1121-1130. Japanese. First log of this station. Program of classical music. Very faint signal with SSB interference. Poor signal. (J Wood, TN).

Malaysia
Klasik Nasional. 5964.93, 1235-1310. Call to prayer segment to vocal music. Two announcers chat to 1300, followed by two time pips signal and newscast to 1310. Good signal. (J Wilkins, CO)

Niger
La Voix du Sahel. 9705, 2126-2202+. Language didn‛t sound as usual French, though heavily accented. Mentions of Niger to extended commentary, interspersed with flute tune. Long drum chant 2145-2148 to more flute music. Male in French by 2159 into music at 2200. SIO 332. (H Frodge, MI).

Nigeria
Voice of Nigeria 9690, 0758-0815+. Sign-on with station‛s theme music. Talk in local language at 0759 into regional tribal music. (B Alexander, PA).

Papua New Guinea
Radio West Sepik (presumed) 3204.97, 1145-1218. Election coverage with male/female duo in English // 3335, 3365. Mentions of the "candidate" and "election" plus lots of number results given. Fair signal. (J Wilkins, CO)

Radio East Sepik. 3335, 1223-1243+. Two announcers present news and correspondents reports. May be continuing election news heard earlier. Noted other PNG‛s on late including 3385, 3365 and others. (J Wilkins, CO).

Radio Ancash. 4992, 0922-0935. (tentative). Barely heard audio amid male‛s Spanish comments. C. Bolland, FL).

Romania
Radio Romania International. 9675, 2204-2210+. Newscast, national weather update and station commentary. Station ID at 2208. SIO 3+33. (H Frodge, MI).

Rwanda
Sudan Radio Service. 5985, 0315-0329*. English talk about schools in Sudan. Children‛s choral music to station ID at 0329. Poor signal quality with co-channel interferences. (B Alexander, PA).

Swaziland
Trans World Radio. 4774.97, 0405. Religious programming in German. English station ID at 0430. USB poor and LSB unusable due to utility interference. (B Jordan, TN)

Tibet
Xizang PBS, Lhasa. 4820, 1045-1230. Carrier observed rising above noise floor at 1046. Weak audio noted from 1200 with brief instrumental music, then announcers talk. Signal best to monitor in LSB. (B Jordan, TN)

Turkey
Voice of Turkey. 6195, 2220. Live from Turkey - chit chat from two announcers and listener call-in invited. SIO 554. (B Fraser, ME).

USA
Armed Forces network/AFRTS via Key West, FL. "National Public Radio" ID into Morning Edition ptogram with focus on illegal immigration to the US. Fair signal. (J Wood, TN).

WYFR/Family Radio Worldwide. 9265, 2302-2308. Chamber music to station interval signal. Spanish religious program with station ID and SIO 4+53. (H Frodge, MI).

Zimbabwe
Voice of Zimbabwe. 4828, 0254-0504*. Non stop African music, signal peaking around 0420 and past Zimbabwe sunrise with fair signal. Transmitter turned off at 0504*. (B Jordan, TN)
