I have recently received word from Tom Taylor, that the relay service on 9290 kHz from Latvia, will be returning to the air in mid December 2006.
Since 2002, various independent stations, were relayed via the Latvia Relay Service shortwave facilities at Ulbroka, Latvia, and provided by KREBS TV. On June 21, 2006, KREBS TV discontinued their shortwave broadcasting license in Latvia.
Some of the independent stations that relayed via the Ulbroka facilities, included: Europa Radio International, FRS Holland, KWRN Norland Radio, Pipeline Radio, Radio Caroline Eifel, Radio Clasablanca World Service, Radio City, Radio Geronimo, Radio Joystick, Radio Marabu, Radio Waves International, Radio 73, Q-103 Radio and others. At this time, it is unknown whether these or what additional stations will resume relay broadcast.
Those wishing to be relayed via the Latvia service, are ask to please direct their email to: kreicbergs@parks.lv
Additional information on the relay service will be released in December and will be posted on this blog.
