Radio Öömrang (Radio Amrum) is broadcasts once in a year on February 21, a major North Frisian holiday. Broadcast are in North Frisian language (Öömrang dialect) as well as Standard German, including English identifications. Programming is aimed to the descendants of North Frisian immigrants in North America.
The program was founded by the radio amateur Arjan Kölzow on the island of Amrum in North Germany. The first shortwave broadcast was February 21, 2006. This weekends broadcast will be relayed via the Media Broadcast transmitting facilities in Issoudun, France.
