Radio Japan to introduce reduced South Asian service

Radio Japan will introduce a reduced service in South Asian languages in A08 (commencing 30 March). Afternoon transmissions in Bengali, Hindi and Urdu will be dropped, and the evening transmissions will be 45 minutes instead of 30 minutes long. That means a reduction of 15 minutes per day in each language. The new schedule will be Bengali 1300-1345, Hindi 1345-1430 and Urdu 1430-1515 UTC, all on 17595 kHz.
