FRS 'may' repeat broadcast

Last Sunday's FRS broadcast suffered from instable propagation conditions. Some might have enjoyed good reception whereas others' reception was poor.

It is commonly known that SW conditions have been poor. Not only during daytime but also sometimes during evening. Last Sunday we were received in Cyprus and Mexico (not via SDR) while reception in areas where 7700 is almost always satisfactory, was poor. Apart from the final 60 minutes when the first show (Bert van Leer) was repeated; that was between 23:00-23:50 CEST. During that time 7700 was very strong and also 5810 did well.

There might be a repeat next Sunday August 4th or August 11th. At this  moment things are uncertain. But it's worth while to tune in and give it a try! Same time schedule and same freqs being 7700//5810 kHz. Details are still to be read on our site: http://www.frsholland.nl/20-latest-news/132-frs-on-air-sunday-evening-july-28th.html

Remember there are streams planned for next Thursday, Saturday & Sunday (twice!). FRS'  39th anniversary will be celebrated on Sunday Sept. 1st. Details will follow in the course of August.

Free Radio Service Holland set for Setember 2-3 broadcast

Dear FRS Friends,
FRS Birthday
Yesterday Thursday August 31st it was exactly 37 years ago that FRS-Holland officially started short wave broadcasts to Europe. Last Sunday's broadcast in general gave (very) good results on both frequencies. About 15 minutes before the closing down announcement, the 6280 outlet went faulty and so only 7700 continued. 'Luckily' only 15 minutes on 48 metres had to be missed! By the way: the first show (Dave Scott) was repeated after 'closing down' implying that FRS-Holland continued till approx. 23:50 CEST.FRS Streams

The first stream of a total of three took place yesterday evening- on our birthday- but to be honest: it was not to our liking...  Programs should start at 20:00 CEST but started too late. And: the programs were played in wrong order as well. For instance the station opening was played at a moment other shows had already been streamed. Still we are happy with the LautFM facilities assuming this was an incident!

Hopefully things will go better this weekend...
Below the schedules for Saturday & Sunday...

http://laut.fm/jukebox Saturday September 2, 07:00 - 11:00 UTC = 09:00- 13:00 CEST
http://nednl.net:8000/frsh.m3u  Sunday September 3 - 14:52- 19 UTC = 16:52- 21:00 CEST
Repeat

Good news in case you missed (parts of) last Sunday's broadcast!
Next Sunday the complete four hour schedule of last Sunday will be repeated on 48 meters 6284 (most likely!)
Time slots will be similar to last Sunday: 16:52- 21:05 UTC = 18:52- 23:05 CEST

Remember...we have a brand new QSL for that broadcast waiting for you.
Correct reports to FRS-Holland, P.O.Box 2702 in 6049 ZG Herten, The Netherlands.
For all of you: have a good weekend!

Streaming
Choosing for ‘the best of both worlds’ FRSH goes for broadcasting on short wave in good old AM and digital high quality web streaming. We were approached by the responsible person from the German radio website fmkompakt.de/. He has offered to take care of FRS streaming during future broadcasting days. Free Radio Service Holland ready for Sunday broadcast

May 2010 broadcast
Since our February 28th broadcast, FRS has been silent. However: we feel that in this very special year, it's important to keep in touch with our listening audience.

May 30th- on the 5th Sunday- FRS will take to the air from 07.52- 12.45 UTC (6400) and 13.52-18.45 UTC (7600).

The morning/ early afternoon shows will be repeated as from 13.52 UTC onwards. Right now there is still an option to use a 2nd frequency in parallel, we will inform you about that at a later stage. Expect the usual mix of music & information.

2010: 30 Years of FRS-Holland on Short Wave
In the mean time FRS is preparing the 30th anniversary which will take placed in October 2010. Five years ago, FRS would have been celebrating its 25th birthday but that celebration had to be cancelled due to personal circumstances. Sad but true. This year things are looking different and we feel it's time to do a big on air celebration. And that will certainly happen!
But: we feel that an on air celebration would be incomplete without our listeners' input! Therefore we explicitly invite you as FRSH listener to participate:

"2010 will be a very special year for all at FRSH: 30 years on the air! We will be celebrating this later in 2010. We invite our listening audience to participate in the celebrations later this year. We'd like to receive your personal FRS memories. Put them on a sheet of paper or send them by mail and most wanted: record your personal message and send an mp3 audio file. All listener's contributions will be collected and together it will be our anthology of 30 years of SW broadcasts. When did you hear us for the first time, what was your favourite show, when did you get your first QSL, how much did you listen to FRS, any special on air moments you remember? All this info could be part of your personal FRS contribution. For any serious contribution, we have a nice surprise and that is a promise!"

Important: as we have to do a lot of preparations for that very special broadcast, we urge to send your contribution as soon as possible!
or P.O. Box 2702, 60 49 ZG Herten, the Netherlands.

If you have any questions/ remarks, feel free to contact us!!
