The Fort was decommissioned right after WWII. Famous commanders here were Jonathan Wainright and George Patton among many others. Today Fort Clark Springs is a community that occupies the old fort. Many residents have served in the military and the fort continues to honor its past each year with the Fort Clark Fesitval.
