Voice of America makes changes for Urdu service

Due to the local time change in Pakistan the following changes are effective from 1st September for VOA URDU SERVICE :

MW 972 1539 kHz is available at 1400-0200 hrs instead of 1300-0100 hrs.
SW service 0100-0200 (ex 0000-0100) on 7135 11805 kHz.
SW service 1400-1500 (ex 1300-1400) on 9510 11690 kHz.

VOA introduces shortwave for Urdu service

Starting 30th March the Voice of America (VOA) reintroduces 2 hrs of broadcasting on shortwave for its Urdu Service after it was discontinued from 28th January:
0100-0200 UTC on 7145 11805 kHz.
1400-1500 UTC on 9580 15255 kHz.
This will definitely improve reception in Northern and Eastern parts of India. The mediumwave channels 972 and 1539 kHz will continue to broadcast for 12 hours a day at 1400-0200 UTC.

VOA Urdu Service drops all shortwave channels

VOA Urdu (Aap Ki Duniya) Service drops all SW channels

With effect from 28 January 2008 VOA Urdu Service (Aap Ki Duniya) is to discontinue all shortwave channels. The SW schedule was 0100-0200 7145 9740 kHz and in the evening 1400-1800 7495 9370 kHz 1800-1900 7425 7495 kHz. Most of the channels carrying Urdu service is moving to VOA DEEWA service specially the evening 7495 and 9370 kHz. From 28 January VOA Urdu service is available only on 972 and 1539 kHz MW.
