Happy Holidays and Happy New Year, if the world makes it that far (and I certainly hope it will.)
Circumstances compel me to tweak the program schedules yet again. Here's what's happening in January 2025:
1. I am canceling the broadcast direct to North America on 9670. A few months ago, 9655 was only a minor irritant up north. I don't know whether they turned up the juice or propagation changed, but lately, the two frequencies don't play together well in most of North America late at night. There are some sweet spots, but not enough to justify the effort.
2. I am discontinuing 6070 over the winter due to a seasonal long skip.
3. The Saturday broadcast on 3955 is moving to Friday night as 2200 UTC thanks to another program with more cash than I have. My regular listeners reassured me that Friday should be OK for them. I am also adding 3955 to the 1800 UTC transmission on Saturday to fill in some gaps when 9670 takes a long skip. Incidentally, the tx on 9670 really is beginning to reach India on good nights although it has to punch through a fair amount of noise to do it.

January's program will feature retro Cuban music from the 1950s and 1960s and will air as follows:

3955 kHz at 2200 UTC
Saturday, January 11:
(NEW) 3955 at 1800 UTC simulcasted with 9670 using beam E-F (repeat of January 10 episode).
Uncle Bill's Melting Pot:
January's program will feature mainly Kurdish music and will air as follows:
(NEW) Friday, January 17:
3955 kHz at 2200 UTC
Saturday, January 18:
(NEW) 3955 at 1800 UTC simulcasted with 9670 using beam E-F (repeat of the January 17 episode).
In addition to regular radio listening, both shows honor reception reports using websdrs provided that the report covers the entire program and specifies which remote sdr was used. All QSLs are eQSLs, and we will probably send an acknowledgment only for partial reports.
