Last week, Japan donated about 700 million naira (¥642 million) to the Nigerian government to help upgrade its medium-wave transmission infrastructure. The first first phase of the upgrade focuses on the Jaji transmission station in Kaduna State; next year, a site in Enugu State is slated for an upgrade.
According to local reports, the grant will help enlarge the coverage of the Jaji station from a radius of 120 kilometers to 230 kilometers.
