Ascension Island relay station converts to wind power

ASCENSION ISLAND
The BBC World Service's Annual Review, published Jul 3rd, says that the Ascension Island SW relay station is being converted to run on wind power, which will save œ500,000 a year. Elsewhere in the WS Annual Report it mentions a major project to upgrade the station's fuel tanks, so they will still have generators on standby.
