Despite new media, stations rake in big bucks

To borrow from Mark Twain -- who would have made a great on-air host -- rumours of the death of radio have been greatly exaggerated.
A new study by Statistics Canada reveals that iPods and satellite radio haven't killed the more traditional medium.
In the fiscal year 2006, private radio's advertising revenue increased 5.3 per cent to $1.4 billion, less than 2005's growth of 8.7 per cent, but healthy nevertheless.
