CHINA 5030 CNR1 (Beijing), 1153-1158, 7/30/2007, Chinese. Woman talking. Poor signal (SINPO 22222). Parallels noted on 7305 (Beijing, similar poor signal) and 11710 (Shijiazhuang - Hebei, much better signal). (Jim Evans, TN)


CLANDESTINE (No. Korea) - 6003 Echo of Hope 1153-1215+ Aug 3. YL with KR talk to just past ToH; after a brief music bridge, talk continued with OM and YL alternating items. Good signal, sandwiched between 6000 (RHC) and 6005 stations and //, as usual, to 3985 and 6348.(Wilkins-CO)

CLANDESTINE (No. Korea) - 9485 Shiokaze 1301-1329* Aug 2. EG today (Thursday) with OM reading news stories relating to North Korea from Kyodo, Reuters, and other nx agencies; the opening and closing routines were by a YL who mentioned, among other things, that "We may change our frequency and transmitting hour to avoid jamming wave. You never know when Shiokaze will be jammed". (Wilkins-CO)

COLOMBIA - 6035 La Voz del Guaviare 1102-1114 Aug 1. PSA from Dept. de Salud; ID, then into news or newstalk program. Fair at tune-in but going downhill. (Wilkins-CO)

INDONESIA - 4749.96 RRI Makassar 1240-1308 Jul 30. Vocal mx pgm hosted by YL w/possible ads at 1249; continued past ToH to 1308 tuneout. Generally fair. (Wilkins-CO)

INDONESIA 3987.05 RRI Manokwari, 1142-1150, 7/30/2007, Bahasa.Ballad style pop music. Very poor signal at/just above noise level.(Jim Evans, TN)

INDONESIA 4604.9 RRI Serui, 1143-1150, 7/30/2007, Bahasa. Man talking. Very poor signal, just above noise level. (Jim Evans, TN)

INDONESIA 4869.95 RRI Wamena, 1146-1150, 7/30/2007, Bahasa. Slow,instrumental pop music. Very poor signal, at noise level. (Jim Evans, TN)

KOREA, NORTH - 2850.02 K.C.B.S. 1154-1212 Jul 31. Rousing choral mx, then some quiet orchestra mx; pips to 1200, then OM & YL with possible news. Fair. (Wilkins-CO)

MEXICO - 6010 R. Mil 1135-1207 Aug 1. Phone chat(s) by OM; occasional break for ads or PSA's; YL with weather at 1201, then back to talk shortly after a "Radio Mil" ID. Fair on USB to avoid presumed La Voz de tu Conciencia on the low side.. (Wilkins-CO)

NORTH KOREA. 13760v, Voice of Korea (presumed), *0700 to past 0800, July 31 & August 1, 2 and 3; IS, anthem, into programming in Russian, varied from 13759.9 to 13760.1, weak. No sign of CTN programming (via Meyerton) since their August 1 move here. (Ron Howard-CA)

PAKISTAN 9380 Radio Pakistan (Islamabad) (Presumed), 1208-1220,7/30/2007, Chinese (per schedule). Talk by woman in apparent Chinese followed by regional pop music. Very poor signal, peaking just above noise. (Jim Evans, TN)

PAPUA NEW GUINEA 3905 Radio New Ireland (Kavieng), 1135-1150,7/30/2007, English/Pidgin. Man talking in apparent English (possible Pidgin). Poor signal (SINPO 22222). (Jim Evans, TN)

PAPUA NEW GUINEA - 3334.97 R. East Sepik(p) 1235-1304 Jul 31. YL interviewing M on phone // 3365, so probably relaying Karai Nat'l Radio from Port Moresby. Both freqs still on at 1304 but very weak now after being fair earlier. (Wilkins-CO)

SOUTH AFRICA [broadcasting to Sierra Leone]. 13760 (new frequency, ex: 9525), Cotton Tree News (CTN) now via Meyerton (ex: Ascension), scheduled for 0730-0800, starting from August 1. This per e-mail from: Anne Bennett, Coordinateur de Projet Sierra Leone, Fondation Hirondelle, Mount Aureol, Freetown, Sierra Leone. I have not been able to hear them here since the move. Wonder about Star Radio, have they
also shifted their 0700-0730 programming here? (Ron Howard-CA)
