Iran's IRIB to offer program on internet

The Vice President of Islamic Republic of Iran’s Broadcasting has announced that all TV and Radio programmes will be on the Internet soon. “This is a great change in Iran’s broadcasting,” Mahdi Afrasiabi said following a seminar at ‘Data Centre’ in Shahre Kord in Chahar Mahal Bakhtiary Province. A part of IRIB’s archive will also be on the Internet for free access, he added.

All satellite equipment has been digitalized, and recording the programmes has started in digital mode, therefore the technical quality of TV and radio programmes will improve. Iran now owns the technology to manufacture strategic equipment, he said.

The main server of the TV and Radio programmes will be located in Tehran with five other servers also located in different parts of Iran.
